Upcoming Taoist Practice Retreats at
玄修宮道觀
Xuan Xiu Gong Taoist Sanctuary
3317 183rd Ave SE, Snohomish, WA 98290
Retreats offer a chance to dive deep into Taoist practice. Let the cares of the rest of your life fall away and allow yourself to be nourished through movement, stillness, good food, and the beauty of nature. Immersive practice time combined with individualized instruction offers a chance to accelerate your progress, no matter your level of skill.
Individual retreats focus on different topics, but each includes full daily instruction by Master Mo ZhiCheng. Classes typically run from 9 a.m. - noon and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. After dinner, relax during lecture and open question time, ~7 - 9 p.m.
Retreats commonly include classes on: qi gong (hunyuan gong, chansi gong, fang song gong), tai chi (taiji) form, meditation, and taoist philosophy. Additional classes may include, the five animal frolics, eight sections of brocade (standing or seated), Taoist texts, history of Taoism and the Hunyuan Lineage, and self-massage. Tai Chi form practice requires more space, so tends to occur more when the weather is warm enough to practice outside.
Retreats include full room and board. Sleeping facilities range from private to semi-private rooms. Semi-private rooms include bunk beds and are segregated by gender.
