Yang Sheng Zhi Dao

The Way of Nourishing Life

Yang Sheng Nourishing Life is the art and science of living life in accord with nature, the cycles of heaven and earth. A path of cultivating harmony within oneself and with the larger rhythms of the world. The dual cultivation of spiritual nature and physical vitality.

One of the most important aspects of cultivation is the way we perceive and make sense of the world around and within us. How we perceive and understand is a major factor of the outcomes in our life.

Learning how to see these harmonious relationships in all aspects of life and learning methods to enhance harmony is a primary goal of the program.

Areas that will be taught include:

  • Taoist maps and language: developing the language and context to be utilized throughout the curriculum and in the practical application of yang sheng methods.

  • Chinese nutrition: enhancing health with understanding of the nature of foods and their relationship to our constitution, changes of seasons, climatological conditions of various regions.

  • Qigong and meditation: methods to transform the body and cultivate spiritual nature.

  • Fengshui: the study of how our environment, where we are in place and time affect our health and wellbeing.

  • Cycles of time: exploring the use of cycles of time seasons, solar and lunar cycles to harmonize and enhance our practice.

  • Perception: learning ways of seeing that reveal the interconnected relationship between human life and the natural environment that engenders and sustains us.

  • Energetic maps: understanding energetic maps of the body from Taoist cultivation and traditional Chinese medicine
