Mo ZhiCheng (Harrison Moretz),
莫至城, 俗名莫承華 Founder of the Taoist Studies Institute, Master ZhiCheng has been practicing and teaching Taoist cultivation and internal martial arts for over 40 years. He has dedicated his life to penetrating and disseminating the essence of traditional Taoist practice and culture. Mo ZhiCheng is 21st generation Longmen Taoist priest, 19th-Generation Chen-style Taiji and 2nd-Generation Hunyuan Taiji Master. He is a formal disciple of Chen-style Xinyi Hunyuan Taijiquan founder Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang. As a teacher, he has an extraordinary skill to transmit the subtleties of internal martial arts and the Tao. Shoko Zama began her study of Taiji and Qigong in Japan in 1980. She had moved to Seattle in 1988 and met Madam Gao Fu in 1989 , started to study Chen Style Taiji with her. After she met Master Feng ZiQiang in 2000, he prompted her to study Hunyuan Chen Style in depth. Shoko has taught in Bellevue Community College for 13 years, and has been teaching for Taoist studies Institute for 20 years.She has also studied Alexander Technique since 1989, and is an ATI certified Alexander Technique teacher. She brings her unique skill of combining those two modalities to help students understand Taiji principles. Ray Yueh
Ray Yueh, began studying at TSI shortly after moving to Seattle in 2004. First training in BaGua Zhang and then in Hunyuan Taiji. In 2014, Ray became a formal disciple of Harrison Moretz as a 20th-Generation Chen Style Taijiquan and 3rd-Generation Hunyuan Taijiquan lineage holder. He began teaching in 2016. Jason Robertson, E.A.M.P. Jason Robertson, EAMP, is a graduate of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2000). He is involved in ongoing post-graduate studies in Beijing with acupuncture specialist, Dr. Wang. In collaboration, they wrote and published Applied Channel Theory in Chinese Medicine (Eastland Press, 2008). Jason maintains a private practice in Seattle. Daniel Altschuler, Ph.D. (China), LAc studied and taught Chinese medicine in Taiwan for nearly 15 years, apprenticing under Dr. Lee Chen-Yu. He has an MA (1992) in Asian religions from UCLA and a Ph.D. (2005) in Chinese medicine from Guangzhou Chinese Medical College. His specialties include neuropathy and chronically stubborn diseases. He has authored the translation entitled Neuropathy: Traditional Chinese Herbal Treatment in a Modern Medical Environment. Website: www.oldschoolacupuncture.com Matt Branham Matthew Branham, MAcOM, LAc, received his Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) from the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine. He is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in the State of New Jersey and is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). In addition to his acupuncture expertise, Matthew has been a massage therapist specializing in Asian Bodywork therapy for over 15 years. He began his training in Tuina, Shiatsu and Acupressure at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA in 1999, and continued his training in Tuina with Frank Butler and Tom Bisio, and in Shiatsu with Stephen Brown. Matthew was a guest instructor in the student Tuina Clinic at Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine as well a lead teacher for the Tuina courses at Taoist Studies Institute. Under Harrison Moretz’s guidance, Matthew was accepted as a lineage disciple in Grandmaster Feng ZhiQiang’s system of Chen-style Xinyi Hunyuan Taijiquan, and represents the 3rd-generation of Hunyuan Taiji and the 20th-generation of Chen-style Taiji.
