Information about the Temple Retreat Center
The Vision
Taoist temple retreats have a long history in China. Usually built in natural settings, they are designed to be in harmony with nature, both caring for and being nourished by the environment following the Taoist emphasis on living and practicing in accord with nature.
Xuan Xiu Gong 玄修宮 Taoist Temple Retreat Center will provide a facility with a spiritual environment for both short term intensive and long term cultivation teaching and practice.
Architecture
This will be the first traditionally built Taoist temple in North America. We are working with architects and builders in China and will coordinate educational opportunities in traditional Chinese architecture and building methods as part of the project.
